Community Engagement in Research: Precision Outreach and Planning

The CERPOP tool is intended for use by academic research teams who are new to community-engaged research and plan to conduct outreach within communities. Research teams should use this tool, in collaboration with community partners, to customize their outreach strategy based on a community’s needs and preferences.

AAFP Health Equity Curricular Toolkit

The Health Equity Curricular Toolkit provides a structured curricular tool to facilitate exploration of some of the most pressing questions around social determinants of health, vulnerable populations, and economics and policy. The toolkit also provides resources to promote skill-building to confront drivers of persistent and pervasive inequities.

The CDC Community Health Improvement Navigator (CHI Navigator) is a website for people who lead or participate in CHI work within hospitals and health systems, public health agencies, and other community organizations.

Evaluation Trainings, Alliance for Research in Chicagoland Communities

 

ARCC has partnered with Sarah Welch, ARCC Steering Committee Member and Evaluation Director for Northwestern’s Buehler Center for Health Policy & Economics to offer a series of evaluation trainings. 

Measure What Matters, PCORI

 

 

Measurement tools, including questionnaires and surveys, are intended to collect info about engagement in standardized ways, which are reproducible and have been shown to capture what they claim to measure (known as reliability and validity in scientific literature).

  • Learn the basics about program evaluation for non-profits.

Dissemination

Methods of Dissemination for Community Health Programs, Rural Health Information Hub

​After identifying the dissemination objective and intended audiences, rural communities can share content in various ways. Regular and ongoing contact with program partners and community members within the service area can support message dissemination.

Engage For Equity Agreements for Data Sharing, Ownership, Authorship and Dissemination Guidelines, University of New Mexico

This Agreement emphasizes Engage for Equity's core goals of promoting health equity and contributing to the knowledge and science of partnering practices in Community-Based Participatory Research and Community Engaged Research. 

Measuring Community Engagement, National Academy of Medicine

 

 

Twenty-eight Instruments were identified to support assessing community engagement. These can be used to measure various domains and indicators in the Conceptual Model.

Health Equity Guiding Principles for Inclusive Communication, CDC

To achieve health equity, it will require a great deal of focus and societal efforts to resolve historical and contemporary injustices. CDC's Health Equity Guiding Principles can help public health professionals adapt communication strategies where needed.

Evaluation Reporting: A Guide to Help Ensure Use of Evaluation Findings, CDC

The Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP) evaluation guides are a series of evaluation technical assistance tools developed for use by CDC-funded programs. State health departments, tribal organizations, communities, and partners working in a variety of public health areas may also find these tools helpful.

Communication and Dissemination, CDC

​Use traditional and non-traditional (e.g., social marketing techniques and social media platforms) methods of communication to present your results and encourage people with disabilities to take advantage of the new resources in your community.
